First-Come-First-Served Discounts

Send the first N visitors to a discount page, then redirect everyone else to regular pricing.

The scenario

You want to offer a limited discount — say, the first 3 people to click get a special price, and everyone after that sees regular pricing. This creates genuine scarcity without needing coupon codes, countdown timers, or manual cutoffs. One link, automatic transition.

How to set it up

1. Create a Redirect by Click Count link

Go to the Redirect by Click Count tool and configure the threshold:

  • Click 3example.com/discount (your discount page, special offer, or early-bird pricing)
  • Defaultexample.com/pricing (your regular pricing page)

The first 3 clicks on the link go to the discount page. Starting from click 4, everyone lands on regular pricing.

Redirect by Click Count

Specify where users should be redirected to depending on the number of clicks on your link.

2. Set a custom URL

Give it a memorable slug like nimble.li/deal or nimble.li/early-bird. Share this link wherever you want to promote the offer.

3. Share it

Post the link on social media, in an email, or in a community. The scarcity is real — the first people to click genuinely get the discount. Once the limit is hit, the link seamlessly transitions to the regular page without you doing anything.

What you get

  • Automatic cutoff — No need to manually swap URLs or disable coupon codes. The transition from discount to regular pricing happens on its own.
  • Real scarcity — The limit is enforced by clicks, not by a timer. First come, first served.
  • Click analytics — The Destinations breakdown shows how many people landed on each page, so you can see exactly when the discount slots filled up.

Variations

Larger limits

The threshold doesn't have to be small. Set it to 50, 100, or 1,000 — whatever matches your promotion. The first N clicks go to the offer, the rest go to the default.

Multi-tier pricing

Add more thresholds for a tiered rollout:

  • Click 10 → Early-bird pricing
  • Click 50 → Regular pricing
  • Default → Sold out / waitlist page

Each tier fills up in order as clicks accumulate.

Limited access to content

This isn't just for discounts. Use it for anything with limited slots — beta access, event RSVPs, free trial invitations. The first N people get in, the rest see a "spots filled" page.

Keep in mind: The click count controls who gets redirected to the destination, not who can access it. If someone shares the destination URL directly, others can reach it without going through the click limit. Don't rely on this for sensitive content — use a password-protected link for that instead.
