Redirect By Weight

Redirect users to different URLs using weighted randomization. URLs with higher weights are more likely to be selected.

FAQ

How do I set up a weighted A/B test using a short link?

To start, enter the URLs you want to test and assign a weight to each URL. The weight determines how often each URL will be selected when users click the short link—higher weights increase the likelihood of that URL being chosen.

Once you click the "Create Link" button, we'll generate a short link based on your settings. You can use this link in your marketing campaigns, on social media, or in any channel where you want to test multiple destinations.

As users click the short link, they’ll be redirected to one of your URLs. The selection of URLs happens randomly for each click, but the distribution should statistically trend toward your intended ratio as your link accumulates more clicks.

Why doesn’t my weighted A/B test follow the exact ratio I set?

The results of a weighted A/B test are based on probability, not certainty. For example, if you set a 1:3 ratio, the selection of URLs happens randomly according to their weights, meaning that the ratio may not be perfect with every click. Smaller sample sizes can lead to more variability in the results.

Over time, as more users click the link, the distribution will statistically trend toward the intended ratio. However, due to the randomness in each individual click, it may take a larger number of clicks for the results to closely match the ratio you’ve set.

What happens if I exhaust my click limit?

Once the limit is reached, clicks on your links will be redirected to a page similar to this example.

Paid plans have higher limits. Once the limit is reached on a paid account, all links on that account will redirect to a page similar to this example, without our branding.

Do I need to create an account?

Creating your first few links does not require an account. However, having an account makes it possible for you to return to the site and manage the links you created before.

Links you create as a guest will continue to work as configured until they reach their 100 clicks limit. However, if you return to the site in the future, they will not show up on your dashboard and you will not be able to edit them.

By logging in or creating a new account, you can continue managing your links anytime you return.

Will you ever sell my data?
