Custom Domains
Your brand, every link
Replace generic short URLs with your own branded domain.
What it does
Custom domains let you replace the default nimble.li domain with your own — like links.yourcompany.com or go.acme.co. Every short link, QR code, and redirect you create uses your domain instead.

When this is useful
Brand trust and recognition
A link from go.acme.co/summer-sale looks intentional. A link from a generic short domain doesn't tell the recipient anything about who's behind it. Branded links get more clicks because people can see where they're going.
Agencies managing multiple clients
If you manage links for multiple brands, each client can have their own domain. Links stay consistent with each client's identity rather than all funneling through a shared short domain.
Internal tools and company communications
For internal links shared over Slack, email, or wikis, a domain like links.yourcompany.com is immediately recognizable to your team. No one has to wonder if it's safe to click.
Setting it up
Setting up a custom domain takes a few minutes:
- Add your domain in the Domains section of your dashboard.
- Add a DNS A record at your domain registrar, pointing to the IP address shown in the setup instructions.
- Click Check — once the DNS record propagates, we verify and activate the domain automatically.

How links work with custom domains
Once a domain is active, you can select it when creating or editing any link. The domain dropdown appears in your link's URL settings.
In your link settings
- Custom slugs — Set a readable path like
go.acme.co/summer-saleinstead of a random string. Custom slugs on your own domain have no minimum length requirement. - Root domain links — You can leave the slug empty to use the domain root (
go.acme.co) as a link. Only one link per domain can use the root. - All link types — Custom domains work with short links, QR codes, geo-redirects, device-redirects, and every other link type.
DNS propagation
After adding your A record, it can take anywhere from a few minutes to 48 hours for DNS changes to propagate, depending on your registrar. If the Check button doesn't find your record right away, wait and try again.
