Social Previews
Look good when shared
Automatic Open Graph images that match your page design.
What it does
When someone shares one of your link pages on social media, the platform shows a preview card with an image, title, and URL. Nimble Links automatically generates this image — known as an Open Graph (OG) image — from your page's actual design. Your colors, background, avatar, and text all appear in the preview, so the shared link looks like your brand, not a generic card.

How it works
Every time you create or update a designable link, Nimble Links generates an OG image in the background. The image is a 1200x630 pixel screenshot of your page design — the standard size used by Facebook, X (Twitter), LinkedIn, and other platforms.
The image is stored and served via CDN, so it loads quickly when social platforms crawl your link. If you change your design later, the OG image regenerates automatically.
Previewing in the designer
The page designer shows a Social Preview panel so you can see exactly how your OG image will look before sharing. As you adjust colors, swap backgrounds, or edit text, the preview updates to reflect the current design.

Which links get social previews
OG images are generated for link types that render a page in the browser:
- Link-in-Bio — Shows your avatar, title, and bio
- Music Link — Shows your artwork, title, and subtitle
- Podcast Link — Shows your artwork, title, and subtitle
- Password-Protected Link — Shows your logo or a lock icon with the title
Other link types (short links, redirects, QR codes) redirect immediately and don't render a page, so they don't need an OG image.
What appears in the preview
The OG image shows the visual elements of your design — background color or image, avatar or artwork, title, and description text. Interactive elements like buttons, links, and forms are excluded since they wouldn't be clickable in a static preview image.
This means the parts that matter most for a good social preview are:
- A clear title — This is the most prominent text in the preview
- An avatar or artwork — Gives the preview a visual focal point
- A strong background — A solid color or background image sets the tone at a glance
Open Graph meta tags
Behind the scenes, Nimble Links sets the og:image, og:title, and og:type meta tags on your page. These are the standard Open Graph tags that social platforms read when generating preview cards. You don't need to configure them — they're set automatically based on your link's title and design.
