How do you handle visitor IP addresses?

We never store visitor IP addresses long-term in our analytics database. When someone clicks one of your links, we use their IP to look up their country (so you can see geographic breakdowns in your dashboard) and then discard it.

Parts of our infrastructure may briefly process visitor IPs for security purposes such as rate limiting and abuse prevention. Those records are isolated from click analytics and routinely deleted.
