Can I use a transparent background for my QR code?

Yes. In the QR Code Designer, open the Custom preset, switch to the Colors tab, and tick Transparent next to the background picker. This is useful when you're placing the QR on top of a coloured printed panel, a photograph, or an existing design where a white square behind the code would break the layout.

Both PNG and SVG exports preserve the transparent background, so use whichever format suits your workflow.

Scannability still depends on contrast between the foreground (dots) and whatever sits behind the QR. If the underlying surface is busy or low-contrast, a transparent background can make the code hard to scan. When in doubt, scan-test before going to print.
