What are custom domains?

By default, all links you create on Nimble Links use the nimble.li domain together with an auto-generated path made up of letters and numbers. A typical link we generate looks something like this: nimble.li/a1b2c3

The Custom Domains feature makes it possible for you to connect your own domain to Nimble Links, so that you can generate fully custom URLs. This is how a custom URL may look like: example.com/promotion

Important Caveats:

  • The Custom Domains feature is currently only available on the Advanced plan. See all plans for more details.
  • You will first need to purchase your domain from a registrar (e.g. hover.com or cloudflare.com) before you can connect it to Nimble Links.
  • You will not be able to re-use a domain that you're using to host a live website. If you're currently using example.com to host your website, for example, you will not be able to reuse it for your short links on Nimble Links. You may instead use another domain or a subdomain of example.com (e.g. links.example.com) as your custom domain on Nimble Links.
